Between the rivers Sile and Piave

This route winds through both paved and dirt roads and will take you along an ancient road, the Litoranea Veneta, to discover areas which were once witness to the events of the First World War. You will discover small rural villages, hydraulic structures, natural oases and the typical drained lagoon fields used for cultivation. Starting from the Smeraldo hotel, you can cycle to the cycle path which runs along the River Sile (or Piave Vecchia) to discover the water stream which was the setting of the battle of the Solstice during the Great War. You can admire the amazing show of lights and colours created by the reflections on the waters of the Sile and finally reach Chiusa Intestadura where the Sile merges with the Piave. From there you can reach Eraclea and then continue towards Jesolo, cycling along the banks of the river without ever losing sight of the charming river and the surrounding nature.
