Girasile

This route goes entirely along the banks of the River Sile on paved and dirt roads which run from the charming Venetian lagoon to the elegant city of Treviso. Known as the Friendship Cycle Route, this route merges with the last stretch of the Munich-Venice cycle path and goes through ancient rural villages and landscapes rich in flora and fauna. Starting from the Smeraldo hotel, you can cycle to the village of Portegrandi before reaching Quarto d’Altino, Musestre, Casale sul Sile and Casier. There you can have a break and admire the Burci cemetery and the archaeological site of the nature park of the River Sile which contains the wrecks of several burci (flat-bottomed freight riverboats). Finally, you will reach Piazza dei Signori in the elegant historic centre of Treviso. Shuttle service available for the return to the Smeraldo hotel.
